More and more people are earning huge incomes from YouTube and Google. Some of them earn hundreds of billions of dong a year from online business. A 28-year old woman and a 30-year old man in Cau Giay district in Hanoi have reported revenue of VND330 billion and VND269 billion from software they developed and posted on Google Play, App Store and other apps. The Hanoi Taxation Agency said they were the biggest taxpayers in 2020 in the city, paying VND23.4 billion and VND18.1 billion, respectively. Vietnamese tourism clip passes one million views on YouTube
The huge number of views shows the massive level of interest from the domestic and international community for content relating to Vietnamese tourism. The one-minute clip was released as part of a tourism promotion campaign entitled “Vietnam: Di de yeu!”, “Discover Vietnam” in English”, with the purpose of making the country more popular among travelers via the digital-media platform. Created by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) after receiving support from both Google and VinPearl, the campaign is part of a wider programme launched by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to promote the country as a safe and attractive destination. E-commerce operations on cyber platforms, namely Google, Facebook and YouTube, are making as much as eight-digit income a year in U.S. dollars for certain individuals in Hanoi, according to 2020 tax return details from the Hanoi taxman. E-commerce is seeing a boom in the world and Vietnam alike, according to Mai Son, the leader of the municipal Department of Taxation. In 2020, the Hanoi tax office collected VND123 billion (US$5.3 million) from e-commerce operations in the capital, a fivefold increase from the 2019 figure. “Taxpayers in e-commerce sectors are mostly individuals, one of whom contributed over VND23 million [$1 million] in tax for e-commerce operations,” Son revealed. V-pop prince faces another copycat charge, latest music video removed
The complaint, made by another channel on the video streaming platform, is not the first time that the V-pop prince has been accused of plagiarism. The notification that popped up when netizens click on the "Chung Ta Cua Hien Tai" (We Of The Present) link on YouTube says: "This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by GC." The video, removed on Monday evening (Feb 22) on YouTube, was restored on the platform after one day. Three weeks ago, under the GC channel's "Is You Mine" video published in September 2020, a viewer commented on the similarity in the rhythm of the song and Tung's "Chung Ta Cua Hien Tai."
