Viet Nam News HCM CITY— UNICEF and partners are organising a new challenge calling on young innovators in HCM City and surrounding provinces to design solutions that will improve skills and training for young people, and empower them to take actions on issues that affect them. The Youth Challenge is part of the global initiative called Generation Unlimited. Generation Unlimited, which is a new, ambitious partnership – launched at a high-level event during the 73rd Session of the United Nations General Assembly – aims at getting every young person into quality education, training or employment by 2030. Engaging ASEAN youth in gender initiatives

Dai Lanh Lighthouse becomes attractive destination for the youth
After being repainted with Dulux Weathershield, a popular product of AkzoNobel, the leading global paints and coatings company, Dai Lanh Lighthouse has become an attractive tourist destination, especially among young travellers. The repainted Dai Lanh lighthouse Dai Linh Lighthouse is one of the five lighthouses that are over 100 years old, and is the closest to international waters among the 79 lighthouses in Vietnam. This is the first Vietnamese structure to see the light of day and since it has been repainted, it has become a popular place to check-in among the youth. During past days, the album named “24 hours at Dai Lanh Lighthouse” was shared on social networks with the hashtag #BaoVeHaiDang. Youth project helps to spread reading culture in community
Since its debut by three young people in Ho Chi Minh City in December 2016, Sach Chuyen Tay (Books in the City) has created a venue to share and lend the favourite free books in Vietnam. The project aims to help spread the reading culture and connect the reading community by locating available book sources in society. Director of the Live & Learn Centre Do Van Nguyet said that the talk was held in the framework of the USAID’s Clean Air Green Cities project, aiming to promoting initiatives and solutions among children, youths, communities, and locals impacted by air and environmental pollution in Hanoi. NGO helps make life better for disadvantaged youths
REACH is a local non-government and non-profit organisation specializing in providing vocational training, career advice, and job placement services for Vietnam’s most disadvantaged youth. Established in 2004 by the Vietnamese Union of Scientific and Technology Associations, REACH began as the Livelihood Advancement Business School (LABS), a project of Plan International in Vietnam. REACH’s training model aims to empower youth to change their own lives and the lives of their families and start contributing to their community. Vietnamese youth join hands for sustainable tourism
Young Vietnamese people have demonstrated their devotion to sustainable tourism as the Viet Youth on Sustainable Tourism (VYST) project kicked off yesterday in Ha Noi. At the launched ceremony, 31 teams of young people applied to implement 13 projects on providing consultancy on agriculture and social issue to locals in 5 outlying districts of the city.
