“COVID-19 Park” – a message of belief in victory over the pandemic

The park, located at a tourist sculpture tunnel at Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourist Complex, Da Lat city, Lam Dong province, has attracted the attention of locals and tourists from the first days after its launch. It was initiated by Trinh Ba Dung, General Director of the Sculpture Tunnel Tourist Site, who also tells the story of Da Lat's history with a complex of clay sculptures under a 1,200m-long tunnel at Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourist Complex. The park lies under a pine forest canopy. Mr. Dung is also the person that brought the Kilo submarine to the mountain, in the Submarine Tourism Area on the Mountain in Cam Lam district, Khanh Hoa province, with the model of a submarine same shape and size as the Kilo submarine of the army at Cam Ranh Port, by which he hopes to send the message that Vietnam is hospitable, peace-loving and ready to fight to protect the country. “The world has admired Vietnam in its battle against the COVID-19 pandemic. More bears rescued from local bear bile farms

All seven bears are now on their way to the bear sanctuary run by the international animal welfare organisation Four Paws in the northern province of Ninh Binh. In addition to the recused bears in Binh Duong, six more bears in Lam Dong, Hai Duong and Hanoi were delivered in October and two others from Phu Tho were transferred on November 3. From the beginning of October, a total of 15 bears have been transferred from bear bile farms to rescue centres, according to Education for Nature Vietnam (ENV), a local NGO focused on the conservation of nature and the environment. In recent years, many bear owners have decided to transfer their bears to rescue centres, Vu Thi Quyen, ENV Director said, adding that her NGO will continue its efforts to mobilise other bear owners across the country to act in the same way and help put an end to bear bile farming in Vietnam. Outstanding wildlife conservationists to be honoured

According to Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and the Environment Vo Tuan Nhan, 2020 is an important milestone for the implementation of the common goals of biodiversity under the strategic plan on biodiversity for the 2011-2020 period. So far, forest area in Vietnam reached over 13.8 million hectares with a coverage rate of 41.89%. The country currently has 173 protected areas with a total area of more than 2,500 hectares, including 33 national parks, 66 nature reserves, 18 species and habitat conservation areas and 56 landscape protection areas. Many nature reserves and areas have been internationally recognised such as nine world biosphere reserves, three UNESCO world heritage sites, nine world Ramsar sites, and 10 ASEAN heritage gardens. Export value skyrockets over Lunar New Year Vietnam's export turnover during this Lunar New Year saw breakthrough growth, occupying nearly half of the total export-import turnover. The latest data published by the General Department of Vietnam Customs showed that export volume over the seven days (February 10-16) of the Lunar New Year holiday reached $730 million, rising 79 per cent on-year and accounting for about 44 per cent of the $1.67 billion export-import turnover. The main export articles include mobile devices and components valued at $332 million; computer and electronic products worth $251 million. The two categories accounted for 80 per cent of the total export value. This Lunar New Year saw exports going to 80 markets, seven more than last year.
