KPMG improved remarkably on its weaker points since 2018 to take the pole position in Source Global Research’s 2019 Financial Services report A rise of eight points compared with its 2018 performance in the survey placed KPMG squarely at the top of the table and marked the biggest uptick in client opinion of individual firms in the period. Every year, Source Global Research asks senior end-users of consulting firms to rate the quality of consulting firms' work in 13 different financial services specialisms. KPMG came first in business strategy, financial management, risk management, regulatory-driven work, and robotics, as well as working with legacy technologies and managing non-digital transformations. Malaysia to return 3,000 tonnes of plastic waste to original nations

(Photo: Bernama) Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Malaysia will send 3,000 tonnes of plastic waste back to the countries it originated from, said Minister of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment, and Climate Change Yeo Bee Yin. Fielding questions from reporters after inspecting the shipments at Port Klang on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur on May 28, Yeo noted that the country will send back 60 containers of trash that had been imported illegally. Ten of them are expected to be shipped within the next two weeks, with costs covered by the importers involved. Malaysian officials have identified at least 14 original countries of the unwanted waste, including the US, Japan, France, Canada, Australia, and the UK. Vietnam remains attractive investment destination for German firms

The AHK World Business Outlook (AHK WBO) was conducted by the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (AHK), with the participation of German entrepreneurs in Vietnam. It showed that Vietnam is a top investment destination for German businesses with high expectations of economic development in the medium term. German enterprises are optimistic about their businesses as well as the prospects for growth in the next year, despite the instability of the global economy due to trade tension, the outlook said. Institute’s acupuncture treatment helps smoking addicts

3 Vietnamese cities among world’s most visited destinations

Both Vietnam’s southern metropolis and the capital Hanoi climbed up one place from last year to 31st and 52nd respectively in the annual Top City Destinations Ranking report, released Thursday by the U.K.-based global business intelligence firm Euromonitor International. Da Nang, the country’s third largest city after HCMC and Hanoi, jumped six places from last year to 90th in the list, which ranked over 400 cities around the world based on the number of international tourist arrivals. The report said HCMC received 7.2 million foreign tourist arrivals last year and is expected to welcome 8.2 million this year, up 14 percent from a year ago. Hanoi received 4.6 million foreign tourists in 2018 and expects 5.1 million arrivals this year, a year-on-year rise of 9.5 percent.
