In pandemic times, HCMC overachieves state budget collection target

The revenue is almost twice the sum it has been assigned for per day this year, municipal vice chairman Vo Van Hoan said at an online meeting Tuesday. He said the government has tasked HCMC with earning VN365 trillion in budget revenues this year, which means it has to earn VND1.5 trillion each day. As of now, the city has collected VND74.5 trillion, up 10.5 percent against the same period last year. "Given what has been happening, the city will be able to complete the mission assigned by the central government," Hoan said. HCMC earned budget revenues of VND410 trillion in 2019, roughly 27 percent of the national figure and 3.3 percent higher than the target. Hanoi mandates 14-day self-isolation for returnees from COVID-19 epicenter

Entrants to Hanoi from certain districts and cities of Hai Duong Province, the current COVID-19 epicenter in Vietnam, will be required to self-isolate for 14 days for monitoring, according to the Hanoi Center for Disease Control (Hanoi CDC). The direction was stated on Monday by Khong Minh Tuan, deputy director of the Hanoi CDC during a meeting of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control to review the state of COVID-19 transmission in Hai Duong. According to Tuan, Hai Duong reported four cases of COVID-19 transmission on Saturday, all of whom are in isolated zones, while other cases of direct transmission from the infected have been quarantined. Hai Duong has required its districts to comply with sets of COVID-19 prevention regulations. Cabinet members discuss urban administration models in HCM City, Da Nang

Vietnam to realize 6.5% growth target: PM
