Vietnam logs no new COVID-19 infections on March 1 morning Vietnam documented zero COVID-19 infections in the past 12 hours as of 6:00 am on March 1, leaving the national tally unchanged at 2,448 patients, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control. Earlier, Vietnam reported 16 COVID-19 cases at 6pm on February 28, including 12 locally infected cases in the northern province of Hai Duong, the country's largest COVID-19 hotspot, and four imported cases in the southern provinces of Tay Ninh and Dong Thap. Of the total infections, there were 1,542 domestically-transmitted cases, including 849 recorded since the latest outbreak hit the northern province of Hai Duong on January 27. 14th Red Spring blood donation festival begins in Hà Nội

Young people donate blood at a blood donation venue in Hà Nội. — VNA/VNS Photo HÀ NỘI — More than 85,000 units of blood have been collected from donors at the Xuân Hồng (Red Spring) festival over the past 13 years and the organisers are hoping for a surge in donations as this year's festival begins. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 14th Red Spring Festival in Hà Nội on Sunday, head of the National Institute of Haematology and Blood Transfusion (NIHBT), Bạch Quốc Khánh, said the festival has helped ease blood shortages after the Tết (Lunar New Year) holiday and contributed to strengthening community awareness about voluntary blood donations. The COVID-19 pandemic broke out again in many provinces and cities before Tết , greatly affecting the blood supply to hospitals. Scrap collector, grocery owner and a second-rate vehicle: all used to help others in Covid hotspot

A man earning his living as scrap dealer in Cam Giang district has transported food and foodstuff to provide to thousands of people in the Covid-19 Hotspot on his old motorbike. Diem and Hai have been carrying dozens of rice bags to provide to people in the quarantine area The Highway 5 section which goes across Tan Truong commune in Cam Giang district was deserted on February 23 noon. There were only vehicles helping agencies’ fight against Covid-19 and trucks carrying goods from the vegetable granaries of Kim Thanh and Gia Loc. Hai Duong has been in lockdown since February 16. At a grocery in Ghe hamlet, Vu Thi Hai, 55, and her husband, Do Cong Son, could be seen classifying bags of vegetables and putting eggs into trays.
