It was awarded the Youth Jury Prize award at a ceremony on November 30 in Singapore. "Sweet, Salty" features a 40-year-old pregnant woman who decides to confront her husband’s secret lover, but the showdown leads to a sticky situation that leaves her with a bittersweet realization. First Vietnamese actor to get ‘Asian Stars: Up Next’ award
The 29-year-old Vietnamese actor will be presented with the award at the closing ceremony of the International Film Festival & Awards Macao (IFFAM) on December 10. Vietnamese netizens unimpressed with foreign ao dai ‘innovations’
On October 12th, American Singer Kacey Musgraves stirred great controversy within Vietnamese communities worldwide, and not for good reasons. Wearing traditional Vietnamese "ao dai" yet intentionally replacing the pant with a transparent stocking, the singer posed in overtly sexy manner. The pictures infuriated Vietnamese and they accused her of not respecting Vietnamese traditions. Some local celebrities such as actress Ngo Thanh Van and Miss Universe Vietnam 2015 Pham Huong also expressed their frustration. American singer and songwriter Katy Perry wears a Vietnamese "ao dai" in a music collaboration with record producer Zedd. Perry and Zedd have teamed up for a new song called "365." In the video, the singer wears a green "ao dai" with golden polka dots while lying in bed, face make up like a doll.
