The 32-year-old, who runs an Italian restaurant in Hue, noticed Vietnamese diners always ask if the restaurant has ketchup or hot sauce when eating pizza. "We usually eat pizza without adding any sauce because it already has enough seasoning. I was surprised when customers asked for ketchup or hot sauce, which our restaurant didn’t have. Later, I bought them to meet customer demand," Cortinovis said. The Italian chef added pizza in Vietnam has a wider variety of toppings such as beef, chicken and pineapple. Before opening a restaurant in Hue, Cortinovis used to live in Ho Chi Minh City for a year. Hundreds of Vietnamese repatriated from Myanmar amid political instability
Two flights, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vietnamese Embassy in Myanmar and Vietnam Airlines, brought the Vietnamese citizens from Myanmar to central Da Nang City. A Thursday press release by the foreign ministry said repatriated citizens include those below 18 years of age, the elderly, those with underlying conditions and others in dire circumstances. Covid-19 prevention measures, including medical declarations, body temperature checks and wearing protective equipment were deployed throughout the flight to prevent coronavirus infection. Korean, German piloted as first foreign languages at Vietnamese schools
The Ministry of Education and Training has decided to pilot German and Korean as the first foreign languages at local schools. Under the decision, German and Korean will be taught as the first mandatory languages for students from third grade to twelve grades on the trial basis from February 9. According to the Ministry of Education and Training, the pilot teaching of German and Korean in some localities have proved good results with the active response from students. This is the reason why these two languages are added to the list of the first obligatory foreign language list. Six COVID-19 cases recorded on March 4
Three of the new cases were detected in a lockdown area in Kim Dinh commune, Kim Thanh district, while the other three were in concentrated quarantine facilities as they were F1 of previous cases. The national tally increased to 2,487. The same day, 22 COVID-19 patients were given the all clear, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,920. The death toll remains at 35. Hotspot Hai Duong records six more Covid-19 cases
All the new patients, numbered 2843 to 2488, are those who had been in either quarantine zones or locked-down areas since March 2. They are now being treated at a field hospital of the northern province. Also on Thursday, 22 Covid-19 patients have been announced recovered from the disease.
