Hanoi (VNA) – The 2020 Formula 1 race in Vietnam could be delayed after the event in China was postponed due to the acute respiratory disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19). The opening three races of the F1 season in Australia, Bahrain and Vietnam are under increasing threat of cancellation. The Australian Grand Prix is the first race of the season and is scheduled to take place from March 13-15. It will be followed a week later by the next stop in Bahrain from March 20-22, with the Vietnam race set to take place in Hanoi from April 3-5. New York (VNA) – Ambassador Dang Dinh Quy, head of Vietnam’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations, has called on all parties to find a long-term solution to the situation in Syria on the basis of international law and UN Security Council (UNSC) resolutions. Speaking at a UNSC meeting on the humanitarian issue in Syria on February 27, Ambassador Quy expressed concern over civilian losses in northwestern Syria as well as the humanitarian situation in other parts of the country. He also emphasised that all parties must comply with their obligations under international humanitarian law, including ensuring that civilians are protected and that aid is delivered on a priority basis.
