Deputy Prime Minister Supattanapong Punmeechaow said the government still maintains an economic growth target of 4 percent this year although various economic forecasting agencies have downgraded their outlook to only 2.7-3 percent growth. The Fiscal Policy Office (FPO) recently slashed Thailand's economic growth forecast to 2.8 percent this year, down from 4.5 percent in October 2020, while the Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking maintained its economic outlook at 1.5-3.5 percent, despite the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine. Vingroup prepares for two mega-projects of $15 billion in Quang Ninh and Danang
Vingroup is preparing for a $10 billion complex urban area in Quang Ninh and a $5 billion resort complex in Danang One oOf the two Vingroup mega-projects, the 4,109-hectare Ha Long Xanh Complex Urban Area, with a total estimated investment of VND232.369 trillion (around $10 billion), will be built by the joint venture of Vingroup and Vinhomes. The project will stretch across Ha Khau and Dai Yen wards in Ha Long city, as well as Tan An, Ha An, Hoang Tan, and Lien Hoa wards in Quang Yen town. Meanwhile, the Lang Van resort and entertainment complex in Danang is planned with a total scale of 1,500ha, including land area and lake surface. The comment was made at an online conference reviewing the intensification of administrative reform and the application of information technology (IT) in Tien Giang’s State offices during 2020, which was chaired by Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Vinh on March 4. BSR earns 54 trillion VND in revenue in six months
A corner of the Dung Quat Oil Refinery (Photo: VNA) Quang Ngai (VNA) – The Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical One Member Co Ltd (BSR), a subsidiary of PetroVietnam, pocketed nearly 54 trillion VND (2.37 billion USD) in revenue in the first six months of the year, accounting for 69 percent of the yearly plan. At its shareholders’ meeting held in the central province of Quang Ngai on June 21, the company said that its net profit reached 2.7 trillion VND (118.8 million USD), equivalent to 77.6 percent of the target set for the whole year. The company’s total output stood at 3.53 million tonnes while its sale volume was estimated at 3.6 million tonnes, completing 57 percent of the yearly plan.
