Vietnam, Turkey urged to expand economic cooperation

Vietnamese and Turkish officials take a photo together (Source: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) - Turkish Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Faruk Özlü has suggested Vietnam and his country enhance economic, trade and technology cooperation. Özlü made the suggestion during a recent meeting with Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Van Trung and deputy head of the National Assembly's Law Committee Hoang Thanh Tung, who were on a working visit to Turkey to learn about building free economic zones and concentrated industrial parks (IPs). The Turkish official spent time introducing his Vietnamese guests to Turkey’s mechanisms for managing more than 300 concentrated IPs, coordination among the state, localities and enterprises in the work, and preferential policies for domestic and foreign firms to invest in IPs. Vietnam, Czech Republic step up environmental cooperation

At the event, the two ministers spoke highly of the unceasingly consolidated traditional friendship between the two nations, describing it as a foundation for the environment ministries and sectors of both sides to boost cooperation in this field. Vietnam, Russia reinforce strategic partnership

The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister visited Vietnam on June 13-14 at the invitation of the Foreign Ministry of Vietnam to attend the ninth Vietnam-Russia Strategic Dialogue on Diplomacy-Defense-Security and Political Consultation at the deputy-foreign-ministerial level, which aimed to roll out the cooperation plan between the two foreign ministries for the 2017-2018 period. At the reception on June 13 in Hanoi, Mr. Minh suggested that the two sides boost their discussions on regional and global issues for better coordination and wished Russia to further cooperate with ASEAN and actively contribute to maintaining peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region.
