Loship secures investment from Skype co-founder

Loship will use the investment to expand its delivery network, human resource, technology and market. — Photo tvphapluat.vn HÀ NỘI — Loship, Việt Nam’s fast-growing one-hour-delivery e-commerce startup, has announced its latest investment from Skype co-founder Jaan Tallinn. Tallinn participated in Loship’s Series C funding through his investment vehicle MetaPlanet Holdings. This capital injection marks Loship as the first portfolio company of MetaPlanet in Việt Nam and Southeast Asia. The investment comes four months after the startup secured capital in a bridge round led by Vulpes Investment Management. A man earning his living as scrap dealer in Cam Giang district has transported food and foodstuff to provide to thousands of people in the Covid-19 Hotspot on his old motorbike. Diem and Hai have been carrying dozens of rice bags to provide to people in the quarantine area The Highway 5 section which goes across Tan Truong commune in Cam Giang district was deserted on February 23 noon. There were only vehicles helping agencies’ fight against Covid-19 and trucks carrying goods from the vegetable granaries of Kim Thanh and Gia Loc. Hai Duong has been in lockdown since February 16. At a grocery in Ghe hamlet, Vu Thi Hai, 55, and her husband, Do Cong Son, could be seen classifying bags of vegetables and putting eggs into trays. Vietnam logs no new COVID-19 infections on March 1 morning Vietnam documented zero COVID-19 infections in the past 12 hours as of 6:00 am on March 1, leaving the national tally unchanged at 2,448 patients, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control. Earlier, Vietnam reported 16 COVID-19 cases at 6pm on February 28, including 12 locally infected cases in the northern province of Hai Duong, the country's largest COVID-19 hotspot, and four imported cases in the southern provinces of Tay Ninh and Dong Thap. Of the total infections, there were 1,542 domestically-transmitted cases, including 849 recorded since the latest outbreak hit the northern province of Hai Duong on January 27. Hundreds of Vietnamese seafood firms permited to export to Taiwan

Photo baodansinh.vn HÀ NỘI — The Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) has announced a list of 697 Vietnamese seafood enterprises permitted to export their products to Taiwan, reported the Việt Nam Association of Seafood Processors and Exporters (VASEP). This list of eligible Vietnamese seafood enterprises is valid from February 23, 2021, according to the TFDA's announcement sent to the Việt Nam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei, the association said. The VASEP said Taiwan is not among the top 10 seafood export markets of Việt Nam. But this market also has a relatively stable seafood import value from Việt Nam with more than US$100 million per year, accounting for 1.3 to 1.8 per cent of national total seafood exports in recent years.
