Hanoi mandates 14-day self-isolation for returnees from COVID-19 epicenter
Entrants to Hanoi from certain districts and cities of Hai Duong Province, the current COVID-19 epicenter in Vietnam, will be required to self-isolate for 14 days for monitoring, according to the Hanoi Center for Disease Control (Hanoi CDC). The direction was stated on Monday by Khong Minh Tuan, deputy director of the Hanoi CDC during a meeting of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control to review the state of COVID-19 transmission in Hai Duong. According to Tuan, Hai Duong reported four cases of COVID-19 transmission on Saturday, all of whom are in isolated zones, while other cases of direct transmission from the infected have been quarantined. Red Spring Festival expects to collect over 4,000 blood units Young people donate their blood In his opening remarks, Director of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion (NIHBT) Bach Quoc Khanh, who is head of the festival’s organizing board, said that the festival has been held annually since 2008 to address blood shortages after the lunar New Year holiday, and gradually changed public awareness of blood donation. After 13 editions, the festival has collected over 85,000 blood units and become the annual biggest blood donation event. Khanh took the occasion to express his gratitude for donators nationwide. Hanoi targets Covid-19 vaccination for 95% people aged over 18
Hanoi has set a target to use 15.7 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine for around 95% of local people aged over 18. The information was given by Tran Thi Nhi Ha, director of the Hanoi Department of Health. According to Ha, the department is seeking municipal authorities’ permission for buying 15.782 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine. Hanoi has set a target to use 15.7 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine for around 95% of local people aged over 18 This vaccine amount is enough for roughly 95% of people who are more than 18 years old with two injections for each.
