The park, located at a tourist sculpture tunnel at Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourist Complex, Da Lat city, Lam Dong province, has attracted the attention of locals and tourists from the first days after its launch. It was initiated by Trinh Ba Dung, General Director of the Sculpture Tunnel Tourist Site, who also tells the story of Da Lat's history with a complex of clay sculptures under a 1,200m-long tunnel at Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourist Complex. The park lies under a pine forest canopy. Mr. Dung is also the person that brought the Kilo submarine to the mountain, in the Submarine Tourism Area on the Mountain in Cam Lam district, Khanh Hoa province, with the model of a submarine same shape and size as the Kilo submarine of the army at Cam Ranh Port, by which he hopes to send the message that Vietnam is hospitable, peace-loving and ready to fight to protect the country. “The world has admired Vietnam in its battle against the COVID-19 pandemic. Nam O Reef, the green pearl of Da Nang
Nguyen Thanh Nam has been leading tours in Da Nang for more than a decade and he says most tourists cannot help but be amazed at the beautiful nature of Nam O Reef. “The reefs combine with beautiful sand, clear blue seawater, and green trees to become a must-visit destination for nature lovers when coming to Da Nang,” said Nam. “During spring, when the tide recedes, rocks of different shapes and sizes reveal they are covered with green moss. They look so beautiful, just like green pearls." Born in Da Nang and spending his childhood living near the reef, Nam has been coming to the place since it was just a pristine beach where fishermen in Nam O village made their living. “The name can be referred to as 'The beach located in the south of Chau O', it also means 'southern gate',” said the 35-year-old tour guide. “Nam O Reef is about 500m long jutting out into the sea with a dense layer of rock hidden under the cool blue seawater. There are many rock layers, stacked to form many … [Read more...] about Nam O Reef, the green pearl of Da Nang

Bánh Chuoi – The Nostalgic Food of Childhood
The Hanoitimes - Although the ingredients to make this addicting dish sound fairly simple: ripe bananas, sugar, flour, turmeric powder, making banh chuoi requires the exceptional skills of a master artisan. For a lot of Hanoians, banh chuoi (deep-fried banana) is the nostalgic food of childhood. Many of us would savor these crispy, slightly sweet snacks on the sidewalks as an after-school snack, or as a treat to send away the cold. Street food stalls selling deep-fried bananas are ubiquitous in Hanoi. You can find them pretty much anywhere, but do keep in mind that they are open only in the afternoon. It makes a lot of sense actually, since rarely anyone wants something heavy and greasy in the morning. A set of deep-fried bananas, along with sweet potato pancakes and corn pancakes. Photo: Thuy An. Ginger jam: A spicy-sweet delicacy of Hue city
The famous Kim Long Ginger Jam in Hue has a distinct, spicy flavor. The ginger can neither be too old (as the final product will then lack smooth texture), nor can it be too young, because it will not have its characteristic pungency. First, the ginger is peeled and sliced. Thin ginger slices are soaked in cold water with squeezed lemon juice for about 30 minutes in order to clean them, then mixed with sugar. The ginger is then cooked in sugar syrup on wood fires for about an hour until the slices become more firm and the sugar is neatly wrapped around each slice. To make this happen, the mixture has to be continuously stirred with chopsticks, so that it does not get burnt. The ginger jam is then placed on a tray where it is cooled. Here, the jam-maker uses thin bamboo sticks to separate the ginger slices as they can easily stick together when hot. What makes the Kim Long ginger jam special is that every step is done by hand, and it has no other ingredient except ginger and … [Read more...] about Ginger jam: A spicy-sweet delicacy of Hue city
