The province will work to accelerate administration reform and improve the provincial competitiveness index, thus creating an attractive business climate. The provincial authorities will also increase transparency and provide sufficient information about Tra Vinh’s policies and investment environment, as well as maintain dialogues between leaders and businesses. Tra Vinh currently gives priority to infrastructure development projects in economic zones, industrial parks and those are suitable for its potential and advantages, among others. The project is funded by Australia through the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR). Addressing a workshop held in Hanoi from November 15-16 to wrap up the 18-month project, Deputy Head of Mission at the Australian Embassy Rebecca Bryant said that the project is part of the Australian Government’s efforts to carry out its Vietnam Gender Equality Strategy during 2016-2020 period. The investment has been sourced from reserves of the State’s medium-term investment capital plan for the 2016-20 period. The Government has been in charge of directing relevant sectors to complete investment procedures and capital plans to implement these projects following regulations stated in the Public Investment Law and related laws. HCM CITY — Trà Vinh Province is calling for investment in 10 agricultural projects that are part of a plan to develop the area’s agriculture and improve the lives of farmers. The projects, worth a total of VNĐ969 billion (US$42 million), include a freshwater pond in Duyên Hải District’s Đôn Châu Commune; a quality assurance programme for agriculture and aquatic products; animal husbandry projects; new factories for processing meat and fodder; and other programmes to boost agriculture and fishery.
