Thousands of tourists flock to Muong Lo Tourism-Culture Week

(Photo: VNA) Yen Bai (VNA) - Thousands of local people and tourists attended the opening ceremony of the Muong Lo Tourism - Culture Week 2018 held on October 12 in Nghia Lo town, the northern mountainous province of Yen Bai. Festival goers were immersed in the beauty of the nature and people of Muong Lo - Nghia Lo, the land of the National Intangible Heritages and the Vietnam Guinness Book of Records. People explored the typical cultural values of Muong Lo such as Han Khuong folk festival, wedding customs, folk games, ancient Thai words, and culinary art. Muong Lo Tourism-Culture Week to resume on October 12-14

Many activities will be arranged in the week, including art performances, exhibitions, and a Muong Lo cake festival, among others. Bac Ha tourism culture week slated for June
A tourism culture week is scheduled to take place in Bac Ha district in the northwestern province of Lao Cai from June 1-9, under the theme “Colours of the White Highland”. Horse race is always a highlight of Bac Ha tourism culture week Visitors will have an opportunity to visit the mountainous area Bac Ha, which is dubbed as the “white plateau”, where Tam Hoa plums grow. Phu Yen ready for an explosion of tourism: PM
Investors should turn the potential of central coastal Phu Yen Province into money, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said on Friday. Speaking at the largest investment promotion conference held in the province, Phuc asked the locality to continue to use tourism as its development momentum. “The province should attract big and prestigious investors while diversifying and improving tourism quality," he said. "It should also enhance links with other localities inside and outside the country.” Phu Yen has a north-south road system, railway, airways and seaway. Vietnam boosts tourism restructuring to facilitate competitiveness
Vietnamese tourism products remain unattractive with limited service quality, while the sector is still lacking in human resources and most of the domestic tourism businesses are mainly operating on a small or medium scale. The country has not yet attracted a sizable number of high spending international tourists from distant markets. In order to improve its competitiveness and strong development, the "smoke-free industry" definitely has to be restructured. It is also one of the eight important tasks set by the Politburo in Resolution No. 08 NQ/TW on developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector. The question is what should be restructured, in which direction and where to start. The World Economic Forum's Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Report 2017 gave quite a good assessment of Vietnam's tourism capacity among the 136 economies across the world.
