Malaysia recorded a total of 15.85 billion USD worth of FDI in 2020, equivalent to only 39.1 percent of the figure in 2019. Statistics from MIDA showed that China , Singapore, and the Netherlands were the top three FDI sources for Malaysia, accounting for more than 50 percent of the total approved FDI for the year. Among the major economic sectors, the manufacturing sector led in attracting FDI investments, recording 13.97 billion USD. The Hanoitimes - Before the nCoV outbreak, three Vietnamese airlines namely Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific and VietJet operated 87 regular and charter flight routes to 54 destinations in China with a total of 401 flights per week. The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has permitted Vietnamese airlines to resume some flight routes from Vietnam to Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau to ferry stranded passengers at airports in these territories back home. Vietnam’s first airline to suspend flights to China tomorrow
The Hanoitimes - The suspension was in response to the request of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc to stop flights from and to epidemic-stricken areas. Vietjet Air would start suspending flights to China from February 1 as the coronavirus is spreading in the populous country, local media reported. Illustrative photo. Meanwhile, Vietnamese airlines continue to closely cooperating with local authorities to comply with medical procedures of the World Health Organization (WHO) to prevent the spread of the deadly virus. Vietnam stops issuing visas to Chinese tourists, suspends China flights amid nCoV fears
The Hanoitimes - Vietnamese high-ranking officials said though the country has not closed the border with China, it has been taking measures of equivalent seriousness. Vietnam has decided to stop issuing visas to all Chinese tourists, except for official and diplomatic passport holders, with an aim to curb the spread of a new coronavirus (nCoV) which broke out from China’s Wuhan city in December 2019. The decision was made during a governmental meeting chaired by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on January 30, local media reported.
