Foreign ship arrivals down 6 percent in first two months Vietnam’s sea ports have berthed some 4,900 foreign vessels over the last two months, a decline of 6 percent year-on-year, according to the Vietnam Marine Administration. The fall was due largely to the impact of COVID-19, which is resulting in major fluctuations in the transport sector, a representative of the administration said. Despite the lower number of foreign ships, the volume of import and export goods through ports grew. In January and February, 35.3 million tonnes of imports and 26 million tonnes of exports were handled at ports nationwide. The former represented an annual increase of 14 percent while the latter was as same as that last year. In particular, nearly 1.3 million TEUs for exports and 1.2 million for imports were handled during the period, up 32 and 16 percent, respectively, year-on-year; the highest growth since the pandemic began. Seven French movies screened in Vietnam

Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnamese audiences will have an opportunity to enjoy seven classic and modern French movies to be screened in Vietnam from March 1 to December 31. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has granted permission for the screening of the French movies throughout the country. The films will be screened in 10 cities and provinces nationwide, including Hanoi, Hai Phong, Thai Nguyen, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Lao Cai, Thua Thien-Hue, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Lat, and Can Tho. Vietnam discovers oil & gas well with record reserves

The Hanoitimes - The Ken Bau well is set to be put into operation by 2028. An oil and gas well has been discovered offshore Vietnam with record reserves that help state-run energy group PetroVietnam fulfil its reserves plan set for this year, local media reported. The discovery of Ken Bau-2X, located in Block 114 of the Red River Basin, is estimated to provide 9 trillion cubic feet in place with 400 – 500 million barrels (Mbbl) of associated condensates. Lockdown lifted from COVID-19 hotspot Hai Duong
