The Dong Loc T-junction in the central province of Ha Tinh has gone down in history with the heroic sacrifice of hundreds of war heroes. It played a vital role in transportation of necessary ammunition from north to south during the war. It is famous for the story of 10 female martyrs who sacrificed their lives to ensure transportation of important materials on the Ho Chi Minh Trail on July 24, 1968. Some provinces have failed to meet the Prime Minister’s deadline for site clearance for the eastern part of the North – South Highway. Six out of 11 sections of the eastern part of North-South Highway for the period of 2017-2020, which were converted to public investment, have started. Two other sections that are also invested by the State are expected to start in May. According to the Ministry of Transport, site clearance has been far from expectations. The Prime Minister requested that it be generally accomplished in 2020. Nevertheless, by mid-Feb 2021, all 11 sections were struggling with site clearance. As many as 624 out of 652 kilometers of the Highway, 95.6%, have been handed over. Vietnam logs no new COVID-19 infections on March 1 morning Vietnam documented zero COVID-19 infections in the past 12 hours as of 6:00 am on March 1, leaving the national tally unchanged at 2,448 patients, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control. Earlier, Vietnam reported 16 COVID-19 cases at 6pm on February 28, including 12 locally infected cases in the northern province of Hai Duong, the country's largest COVID-19 hotspot, and four imported cases in the southern provinces of Tay Ninh and Dong Thap. Of the total infections, there were 1,542 domestically-transmitted cases, including 849 recorded since the latest outbreak hit the northern province of Hai Duong on January 27. Loship will use the investment to expand its delivery network, human resource, technology and market. — Photo tvphapluat.vn HÀ NỘI — Loship, Việt Nam’s fast-growing one-hour-delivery e-commerce startup, has announced its latest investment from Skype co-founder Jaan Tallinn. Tallinn participated in Loship’s Series C funding through his investment vehicle MetaPlanet Holdings. This capital injection marks Loship as the first portfolio company of MetaPlanet in Việt Nam and Southeast Asia. The investment comes four months after the startup secured capital in a bridge round led by Vulpes Investment Management.
