Berlin (VNA) – German federal parliament Bundestag’s Committee on Foreign Affairs has hosted a webinar on East Sea issues, with representatives of Vietnamese associations and experts in Germany in attendance. The event, which took place on January 15 (local time), was chaired by Prof. Daniela De Ridder, Vice Chair of the Bundestag Committee on Foreign Affairs and its subcommittee on Civilian Crisis Prevention, Conflict Management and Integrated Action. In her remarks, Ridder said the German Bundestag and Government have been very much attentive to the security situation in the East Sea. She said she herself had received a many comments from her parliamentarian colleagues in the Bundestag about the tensions in this area, and that she would like to get opinions from the Vietnamese community, associations and experts living in Germany about the issue. Pig farm fuss highlights foul plight
Vu Dung, Deputy Chairman of Thach Binh People’s Committee, told VIR that the farm has been operating for 11 years and changed its owners twice in that time. “According to the declaration of the owner, they won an auction in 2018 to use this land plot, including the farm. New puppetry show promises fresh experience of Vietnamese culture
Hanoi (VNA) – The Hanoi-based Vietnam National Puppetry Theatre has launched an experimental art programme named “Trang” (The Moon) that features different types of puppetry to offer the audience a new experience of the Vietnamese culture. Director of the theatre Nguyen Tien Dung said the moon symbolises beauty and peace and is very familiar to every people. It is also an endless source of inspiration for poetry, music, and literature. Hence, his idea is to use the image of the moon, the combination of land and water puppetry, and traditional music to create a contemporary art show that introduces the culture of Vietnam’s ethnic groups, from the north to the south. Vietnam makes a big push into renewable energy
According to the amended seventh national power plan, the Mekong Delta is expected to become an energy hub for the south. Bac Lieu and Long An provinces have canceled big coal-fired power projects to call for investment in wind, solar and biomass power plants. Bac Lieu has added two wind power projects with total capacity of 200MW to the seventh national power plan.
