Malaysia recorded a total of 15.85 billion USD worth of FDI in 2020, equivalent to only 39.1 percent of the figure in 2019. Statistics from MIDA showed that China , Singapore, and the Netherlands were the top three FDI sources for Malaysia, accounting for more than 50 percent of the total approved FDI for the year. Among the major economic sectors, the manufacturing sector led in attracting FDI investments, recording 13.97 billion USD. Deputy government spokeswoman Ratchada Thanadirek said the checkpoints are Prak Saeng in Ubon Ratchathani, Chiang Khan in Loei and Hai Soke in Nong Khai. She said the cabinet came to the decision after the Joint Public and Private Sector Consultative Committee on Commerce proposed the reopening so that cross-border trade between the two nations could help spur its exports. According to a spokesperson of the Thai government, the new batch of vaccine will arrive in Thailand simultaneously with 26 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine and 2 million doses of Sinovac vaccine of China ordered previously. Thailand's Ministry of Health is still negotiating to buy more vaccines from other manufacturers as the government prepares to open registration for vaccinations for people.
