At the press conference (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – The third Expo-Russia Vietnam 2019 will take place from November 14-16 at the Hanoi-based National Exhibition Construction Centre, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) said at a press conference in the capital city on October 3. According to the VCCI, the Vietnam-Russia Interregional Business Forum will also be held on this occasion. The events aim to mark the 25th anniversary of the signing of the treaty on basic principles for the Vietnam-Russia bilateral friendship (June 16, 1994), and form part of activities within the Vietnam Year in Russia and Russia Year in Vietnam. Bac Ninh (VNA) – Secretary of northern Bac Ninh provincial Party Committee Nguyen Nhan Chien hosted a local reception on October 2 for a delegation from the Russia – Vietnam Friendship Association led by General Director of Russia’s Yaroslav Region Export Support Centre Bagrova Natalia. Chien expressed his wish that Russia and Bac Ninh would explore cooperation opportunities in fields other than economy, such as socio-culture, thus strengthening ties between Vietnam and Russia, and between Bac Ninh and Russia in particular. Natalia, for her part, spoke highly of Bac Ninh’s development over the past years, particularly incentives for Russian firms, including those from Yaroslav. The nation’s youth delegates are being led by First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Le Quoc Phong. Upon arriving, Mr Phong took part in a working session with the Russian Federal Agency for Youth Affairs in Moscow on September 24. Alexander Bugayev, Chairman of the Russian Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, welcomes the Vietnamese delegation to the forum and explains the opportunities on offer for both sides to exchange experiences whilst volunteering in the programme. Mr Phong shows sincere thanks to the warm welcome put on by the Russian hosts. Moscow (VNA) – Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Ngo Duc Manh paid a working visit to the Republic of Kalmykia from October 7-9 at the invitation of Kalmyk President Batu Khasikov. The visit aimed to explore Kalmykia’s potential and strengths, as well as similarities and reciprocity between Vietnam and Kalmykia, in a bid to set up bilateral cooperation in areas of shared concern, the ambassador told President Khasikov during their meeting on October 7.
