Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Ho Minh Tuan briefed the guests of Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements in 2018, and spoke highly the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two nations. Saint Patrick’s Day was made an official Christian feast day in the early 17th century. The day commemorates Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland and celebrates the heritage and culture of the Irish in general. When you join Saint Patrick’s Day, you have to wear a green T-shirt or green dress because green attire is the main part of celebrations that generally involve public parades. If you read Harry Potter, you will know that green jersey and shorts with green socks is the traditional kit of Irish national quiditch team. On February 12, at the Paris City Hall, the Vietnamese Embassy in France hosted a celebration for the traditional Tet holiday. This is the fifth time Vietnamese Tet is has been officially celebrated in France to continue introducing the unique culture of Vietnam to international friends. Vietnamese Ambassador to Israel Cao Tran Quoc Hai (Source: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnamese Embassy in Israel on February 11 held a get-together in Tel Aviv for overseas Vietnamese in the country to celebrate the Lunar New Year (Tet) festival 2018. Addressing the event, Vietnamese Ambassador Cao Tran Quoc Hai updated participants on Vietnam’s achievements in 2017, noting that the country has continued to develop, ensured national security-defence and social order and promoted international integration. He also highlighted the development of the Vietnam-Israel relationship, which has been deepened in a practical manner. Paris Accords’ 45th anniversary celebrated in Hanoi

India plans closer Southeast Asia maritime ties to counter China

India is gathering the leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Regional Cooperation (ASEAN) for a summit on Thursday to promote maritime security in a region dominated by China, officials and diplomats said. India has been pursuing an "Act East" policy of developing political and economic ties with Southeast Asia, but its efforts have been tentative and far trail China, whose trade with ASEAN was more than six times India's in 2016-17 at $470 million. China has also expanded its presence in South Asia, building ports and power plants in countries around India's periphery, such as Pakistan and Sri Lanka, and spurring New Delhi to seek new allies.
