The Indonesian Government has opened the Darmasiswa Scholarship 2019-2020 program for studies in the country. The Darmasiswa Scholarship 2019-2020 program will offer 650 students from 172 countries the chance to study the Indonesian language and the country’s culture and arts for 10 to 12 months at 71 universities across Indonesia. Vietnamese students who have completed secondary school are encouraged to apply for a scholarship online through the Darmasiswa Scholarship’s official website no later than March 1. Vietnam has received the second-highest number of Darmasiswa Scholarships in ASEAN, after Thailand. From 2016 to 2018, some 96 Vietnamese students received the scholarship. Its main purpose is to promote and increase interest in the language, art and culture of Indonesia among young people in other countries. HCMC-based Ton Duc Thang University and the Tra Vinh University in the southern province of the same name are ranked 182nd and 256th, respectively, in the list of 719 most sustainable universities in the world this year. Last year, Ton Duc Thang University and Tra Vinh University were ranked 245th and 305th, respectively. The metric, launched in 2010, grades universities on six criteria: their settings and infrastructure, energy efficiency and carbon footprints, waste treatment plants, water usage, transportation systems, and education and research programs. A boost to Vietnamese language teaching program for overseas people
The document aims to preserve, develop, and advertize Vietnamese language and cultural identity for overseas citizens. Accordingly, the program will generate a basic foundation for composition, development, and updating of teaching materials; organization of teaching activities; investigation and assessment of ability to use Vietnamese language for overseas Vietnamese. Scratch programming language successfully introduced to VN pupils
14 pupils from primary schools located in HCMC, Vinh Long Province, and Tien Giang Province were awarded a special prize thanks to their 10 prominent products. They will have a chance to visit Google’s head office in the Pacific Asian region sited in Singapore. This will be a wonderful opportunity for these talents to contact with professional IT engineers of Google, which in turn will hopefully encourage their inquiring mind and passion toward information technology, especially programming. Double English programs get on nerves of Ho Chi Minh City teachers, students
Testing methods have forced middle school teachers and students in Ho Chi Minh City to grapple with two English language programs despite knowing well that one of them is so boring and rigid. Students are now allowed to choose between the standard 7-year and extended 10-year syllabi. Learners start studying English in grade six for the former and grade three for the latter, with Vietnam’s basic educational system consisting of grades one to twelfth. The first scheme is a product of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) and has been in effect for decades. The second is peculiar to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training (HCMC DOET).
