Hanoi authorities have praised and rewarded a man who saved a baby girl after she fell from the 12th floor of an apartment building in the city on February 28. Nguyen Ngoc Manh Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue sent a letter to 31-year-old Nguyen Ngoc Manh to compliment his braveness and quick action that saved a baby girl who fell from the 60B Apartment Building on Nguyen Huy Tuong Street. In the letter, he praised Manh's kindness and believed that such spirit and kindness would contribute to community development. Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Chu Ngoc Anh also praised Manh and gave him a certificate of merit for his action. Manh would be rewarded with VND4.47m (USD193) from the city. On the evening of February 28, the unsupervised toddler named N.P.H climbed over the balcony of her family’s home on the 13th floor of Nguyen Huy Tuong Apartment Complex, Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi. She managed to grab the railings but let go just several seconds after.
