Annual marine aquaculture output and export turnover are expected to reach 850,000 tonnes and between 800 million and 1 billion USD, the ministry said. The MARD has taken a series of measures to promote sustainable marine aquaculture in coastal areas nationwide, towards turning the sector into a key part of the country’s maritime economy by 2045. HCMC sets target of creating 140,000 new jobs in 2021
That was announced at the meeting with Deputy Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Vo Van Hoan yesterday upon approval of the department’s plan. In addition to job creation, the Department planned to provide vocational training for 371,000 students as well as offering 300,000 jobs to employees and reduce poverty households by 0.4 percent. At the meeting, Mr. Hoan requested the Department to support foreign experts who are working for companies in the city by allowing them to enter Vietnam as soon as possible but still follow Covid-19 preventative measures. Simultaneously, the Department must take heed of training to workers and enhance connection between skilled employees with employers to satisfy enterprises’ demand of high quality workers. The National Assembly (NA) discussed the draft revised Law on Contract-Based Vietnamese Overseas Workers on June 10. It is expected to be passed at the NA’s meeting in October. Cutting cost for guest workers The law’s regulations on fees were adjusted to be suitable to the current market and international trends, and ensure employers’ responsibilities toward guest workers. Instead of asking the labourers to pay all service fees, the draft law regulates that if the worker’s foreign employer has paid an amount of service charge to the company, the worker would only pay the company an amount equal to the ceiling service charge rate minus the amount paid by the foreign employer.
