Central Party Committee discusses whole-term working agenda, personnel work

In the morning, members of the committee discussed in groups the working agenda of the committee throughout the 13th tenure after listening to a proposal on the agenda, which was presented by Politburo member and permanent member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat Vo Van Thuong. 13th PCC’s second plenum considers leading positions

The Politburo will also ask for the Party Central Committee’s opinions before it officially introduce candidates for other posts for the legislature to consider, elect or approve, Trong stated. Vietnam begins COVID-19 vaccination on March 8 Vietnam launches its COVID-19 inoculation drive on March 8 morning, administering the AstraZeneca vaccine to medical workers in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and northern Hai Duong province – the country’s biggest pandemic hotspot at present. The vaccination is conducted at the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hanoi, the HCM City Hospital for Tropical Diseases and two medical centres in Hai Duong. As many as 100 staff members of the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases are expected to receive the shots in the morning of March 8. The hospital is allocated 450 doses among the first batch of 117,600 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine the country has received. In Hai Duong, 50 medical workers at Hai Duong city’s medical centre, and 30 others at Kim Thanh district’s medical centre will be the first in the province to be injected. Vietnamese overseas celebrate International Women’s Day

The Vietnamese women’s union in Malaysia hosted the charity auction on its Facebook page, auctioning products made by female Vietnamese expatriates. In just over an hour, more than 100 different products were sold for nearly 7,500 RM (42 million VND), which was channelled into the union’s charity fund to help disadvantaged people. The friendship association of Vietnamese in Macau, which has more than 8,000 female members, held a meeting and musical festival in a bid to cheer up participants and encourage them to overcome the difficulties amid the pandemic. Meanwhile, the association of Vietnamese in Vientiane held a celebration and a contest to honour Vietnamese women in the country. Covid-19 vaccinations begin in Vietnam

On the morning of March 8, the first Vietnamese were injected with Covid-19 vaccine at four places: The Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City Hospital for Tropical Diseases in HCM City, the Health Center of Hai Duong Province and Kim Thanh District Medical Center in Hai Duong. The vaccination started at 8am. Nearly 300 health workers who directly treat Covid-19 patients were the first who were vaccinated. Three Deputy Ministers of Health – Mr. Tran Van Thuan, Mr. Nguyen Truong Son and Mr. Do Xuan Tuyen – were present at the vaccination sites for monitoring. Each person received 1 dose of 0.5 ml. The second dose will be injected in 3 months. The person had to stay at the vaccination site for 30 minutes and monitored at home for the first 24 hours.
