Sunwell Solutions, with eight years experience in providing human resources solutions, aims to increase opportunities for outstanding Vietnamese engineers working at Japanese firms and develop relations between Japanese employers and Vietnamese employees. Yoshioka Reito, a representative of Sunwell in Vietnam, stressed that although it has been established for nine years with highly technical staff, Sunwell is looking to expand its business to great customers, focusing on key fields such as information technology, automobile technology, and refinery projects. The box office hit, known as “Co Ba Sai Gon” in Vietnamese and produced by famous actress Ngo Thanh Van, will compete at the Oscars, Hollywood’s most prestigious film awards, with Japan’s "Shoplifters", South Korea’s "Burning", Mexico’s "Roma", Poland’s "Cold War", and Turkey’s "The Wild Pear Tree". Set in Saigon in the 1960s, considered the heyday of the ao dai (the traditional Vietnamese tunic), “The Tailor” tells the story of a young girl called Nhu Y who holds on to her family’s ao dai legacy. The decision was recently made by the culture ministry’s Cinema Department. The Tailor was directed by Kay Nguyễn and Trần Bửu Lộc, and tells the story of a young, arrogant girl named Lan Ngọc in the 1960s. She was born into a family of tailors who specialised in making áo dài (traditional long dress). She looked down on the career, and by some kind of miracle, travels to the future and meets herself a few decades later. SSI upgrades stock board and order services for Web Trading SSI Web Trading, an online trading service from Saigon Securities, has upgraded its online stock board and updated two more conditional orders for derivative trading. The two new orders, namely OCO and Bull & Bear, are the two most useful orders in derivative trading. With this upgrade, all market data displayed on the board and order screen will be updated consecutively and immediately, helping investors track stock prices and follow transactions quickly and accurately. Vietnam’s cinema industry gets a $50mln boost
The fund has a market capitalization of $50 million with each founding members having a 20 percent stake. The five founding member are: Vietnam's Yeah1 CMG, the country's leading movie production platform; Surfing Holdings; Green International, U.S.-based R&B Capital Group; and MBC Studio, a joint venture between Vietnam's MCV Corp and Japan's Asahi Broadcasting Group Holdings. The fund will focus on cinema advertising and screen complexes, with a target on medium and long-term investments in the entertainment sector. Nguyen Cao Tung, VEF’s chief executive, said the fund will provide extensive financial support and standardize movie studios in Vietnam. It will maximize profits for investors by increasing the capital value and dividend yield from initial investments, including the intellectual property of movies, and advertisements at theaters, Tung said. US volunteer doctors offer free health checkups to Cao Bang’s poor US volunteer doctors from the Good Samaritan Medical Dental Ministry provide free medical checkups to poor people in Tra Linh district, Cao Bang. A team of American volunteer doctors provided free medical examinations for about 2,570 poor people in the northern mountainous province of Cao Bang from July 9 – 19. The medical aid workers from the Good Samaritan Medical Dental Ministry (GSMDM) also offered free medicine to people from the district of Bao Lam, Bao Lac, Ha Quang, Tra Linh and Hoa An. After the medical screening, 53 people who needed acute hospital care were admitted to Cao Bang General Hospital. Twenty six of them received surgeries from the US doctors at the provincial health care facility while four others were transferred to central hospitals. Netflix Inc snagged two million more subscribers than Wall Street expected in the final three months of 2017, tripling profits at the online video service that is burning money on new programming to dominate internet television around the world. The results drove Netflix to a market capitalization of more than $100 billion for the first time. Shares jumped 9 percent to over $248 in after-hours trading on Monday after rallying throughout the month and rising 53 percent last year.
