Two more imported Covid-19 patients recorded on Monday
According to the ministry's report, the Vietnamese patient is a 28-year-old man who returned from the US to Danang International Airport on January 13. He was sent to a local quarantine area upon arrival and tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 on January 17. The patient is now being treated at the Danang Lung Hospital. Earlier, three other people who boarded the same flight with him had also been infected with the virus. The 59-year-old Costa Rican man arrived at the Noi Bai International Airport from the UAE on January 16. He is now being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases. With these new infection cases, the number of imported Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 845. Hanoi (VNA) – Two imported cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in the past 24 hours to 6pm on January 18, raising the national count to 1,539, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control. The two new cases are a 28-year-old Vietnamese man returning from the US, and a 59-year-old Costa Rican expert who arrived in Vietnam from Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE). They tested positive for the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 while being quarantined after arriving in Vietnam Also on January 18, 22 patients were given the all-clear, raising the number of recovered patients to 1,402. Thailand records new COVID-19 cases
Hanoi (VNA) - Thailand's Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported 369 new cases on January 18, mostly through active testing in Samut Sakhon province. Of the new cases, 357 were domestic infections while 12 others were imported cases. A total of 269 local infections have been detected in Samut Sakhon, mostly being migrants. Thailand has so far confirmed 12,423 coronavirus infections, including 10,134 domestic cases. As many as 9,206 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals while 3,147 others are being treated in hospitals. Singapore to resume Shangri-La Dialogue this year
Hanoi (VNA) - The annual Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore will take place this year after a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Singaporean Minister for Defence Ng Eng Hen has said. The Shangri-La Dialogue will resume this year, as more effective safety measures against COVID-19 are in place and vaccinations ongoing, he said in a social media post.
