Details relating to the array of negative tests was confirmed on April 13 by Tran Van Khai, deputy director of Soc Trang province’s Department of Health. Upon the flight’s arrival in Soc Trang province on April 11, each of the passengers were quarantined in line with COVID-19 regulations, with the majority of the group made up of elderly people, pregnant women, guest workers with expired labour contracts, and overseas students. In total, the 193 passengers were 88 males and 105 females, all of whom must now undergo a mandatory 14-day period of quarantine at a military facility located in the province. Banks report huge profits

Specifically, HDBank has just announced that its estimated pre-tax profit in the first quarter exceeded VND2 trillion, up more than 67 percent compared to the same period last year. Of which, profit from services was two times higher than that in the same period for the third consecutive quarter. By March 31, this year, this lender’s credit growth rose by 5.2 percent compared to that by December 31, last year. MBBank also informed that its profit was estimated at over VND4.57 trillion, 2.1 times higher than the same period last year. Vietnam gas consumption to double in next 10 years: Fitch Solutions Gas demand is expected to rise from about 9.7 billion cubic meters (bcm) in 2020 to above 25.3bcm in 2030, while influx of LNG helps to counter the decline in domestic production. Vietnam’s gas consumption is predicted to accelerate strongly over the coming decade, more than doubling, over the duration of the upcoming Power Development Plan VIII (PDP VIII) [2021-2030]. “The potential of the Vietnamese gas market is strong,” stated the Fitch Solutions in a note, saying in comparison to markets similar in terms the size of the consumer market as measured by population, Vietnam appears undersupplied in gas both in terms of absolute consumption volume and per capita.
