Changing shopping behavior to promote non-cash payment

The Hanoitimes - Cashless payment not only brings benefits to consumers but also helps the government and the society save time and cost. According to the cashless payment plan in Vietnam from 2016 to 2020 recently approved by the Prime Minister, by 2020, cash payment will be reduced to less than 10% of transactions. According to Hanoi Electricity or EVN Hanoi, power charge can now be paid at branches of 14 banks in Hanoi or through digital payment intermediadiaries  such as ECPay, Payoo, M-Service, Viettel Telecom, besides  payment at the 228  counters of the power corporations.  The transaction is fast, convenient and completely free of charge. The Hanoitimes - The auction aims to balance the development of solar farms in the country, avoiding overload of the power transmission network in the central region. Australian-funded course helps improve social work for abused women, children amid COVID-19

Elisa Fernandez Saenz, Country Representative of UN Women in Vietnam (Source: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – More than 30 consultants and social workers, on February 26, began a three-day Australian-funded course that helps them improve their work toward abused women and children during the current time of pandemic. Sponsored by the Australia n Government, the course is co-organised by the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) and Vietnam’s Centre for Women and Development (CWD) as part of a project on emergency response to violence against women and children amid COVID-19 . Participants are currently working at the CWD in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, as well as hospitals and social centres in the two cities. Vietnam needs over US$128 billion for power investment next 10 years A drone is used to inspect a power transmission system in Vietnam. The country will need an estimated US$128.3 billion for developing the power system in the next decade The Institute of Energy, under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, on February 22 continued to collect feedback over the plan from the relevant agencies. According to the plan, during the 10-year period, Vietnam will need to pour some US$12.8 billion on average into the power sector per year. The total investment for the following 15 years from 2031 to 2045 will be some US$192 billion, including some US$140 billion for power sources and US$52 billion for the grid. The draft zoning plan also revealed that Vietnam will continue to import electricity from China, Laos and Cambodia in the next 10 years.
