Thanh Hoa (VNA) - New documents that help in understanding the architecture of the Ho Dynasty Citadel in the north-central province of Thanh Hoa were unearthed during a recent excavation, Director of the Ho Citadel Heritage Conservation Centre Nguyen Ba Linh announced on January 25. For the main palace and the eastern part of the citadel in different historical periods, the artifacts will serve study purposes and restoration projects at the relic site, affirming its major and exceptional value. The large-scale excavation was carried out in two digs located in the central part of the citadel, spanning 8,000 sq m. Four traces of architecture from the Ho Dynasty (1400-1407) were discovered, along with two others dating back to the Le Dynasty spanning the period from the 15th century to the 17th century. Thailand to start COVID-19 vaccination next month
Hanoi (VNA) – Thailand on January 25 announced it will begin the national COVID-19 vaccination programme in February by administering 50,000 doses of AstraZeneca’s vaccine to high-risk groups. Health workers in Samut Sakhon province, the epicentre of the latest outbreak, would be the first to be inoculated, then elderly and people with chronic diseases, said senior health official Sopon Mekton. Thailand's Food and Drug Administration last week approved AstraZeneca's vaccine for emergency use. It has yet to grant authorisation for that of China’s Sinovac Biotech, of which the government has ordered two million doses. Demand for imported high-value seafood rises
HCM City (VNS/VNA) - Vietnam’s imports of high-value seafood such as king crabs and lobsters are rising due to their falling prices, and are expected to rise even further during the Lunar New Year (Tet) Festival, experts have said. Robert Greenan, Deputy Consul General at the US Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City, said last year exports of Alaskan seafood rose 125 percent to 19 million USD. Vietnam became the US’s sixth largest buyer of agricultural products and foodstuffs with imports worth 4 billion USD. According to the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute in Vietnam, demand for seafood is rising in the country, and several processing factories are moving from China to Vietnam due to tariffs. Alaskan seafood is mostly bought by restaurants and hotels and processors. The institute aims to expand the distribution network so that more customers can buy Alaskan seafood for cooking at home.
