However, air ticket price for Ho Chi Minh City – Hanoi route before and after Tet are still high of about VND5.6 million (US$243) - 7.2 million (US$312) per round-trip ticket. For vice versa, the air ticket price is about VND1.2 million (nearly US$52) per round-trip ticket. General Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam Mr. Dinh Viet Thang informed that the number of air tickets for Tet holiday had based on airlines’ calculation and forecast with increase of 10 percent in passenger over the same period last year, reaching about 7.5 million passengers. In case of high travel demand for passengers, the international terminals will be put into operation to sever domestic routes on peak days of the holiday.
