HCM City (VNA) - Kobiton, a mobile testing platform developed by Vietnamese engineers, has successfully raised 3 million USD in seed funding from three US companies, venture capital investor Kinetic Ventures, technology company KMS Technology and venture fund Service Provider Capital. Created in 2016 by a group of five engineers, Kobiton enables companies to test and assess the quality of mobile apps, optimising output and saving costs. This year, Kobiton moved to Atlanta, the US, with 40 members, including more than 30 Vietnamese engineers. The company plans to use this first 3 million USD in external financing to expand sales and marketing to introduce Vietnamese technology products to reach the US’s 50 billion USD mobile app market. MoIT promotes technology transfer

August 7, 2018 by ven Leave a Comment

(VEN) - The Ministry of Industry and Trade will seek ways to promote innovation and technology transfer. According to the Department of Science and Technology under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in addition to a number of sectors with fast technological innovation such as information technology and telecommunications, oil and gas, aviation, finance and banking, almost all domestic businesses are still using old technologies. The rate of businesses using advanced technologies in the industrial sector only accounts for less than 20 percent of the total. In particular, the garment and textile, footwear and mining sectors are still based on cheap labor, resulting in high export turnover but low added value. According to the World Economic Forum’s latest global competitiveness list released in 2017, Vietnam ranked 55th out of 137 economies, up five places from the previous year and 20 from five years ago. However, Vietnam ranked 79th in terms of capacity for innovation, 90th in … [Read more...] about MoIT promotes technology transfer

April 24, 2018 by vietnamnet Leave a Comment

Along with the development of mobile infrastructure, businesses have invested more in business on the new platform, from upgrading mobile-friendly websites to developing apps. A survey by the Vietnam E-commerce Association (VECOM) in early 2017 found that 19 per cent of businesses have developed websites that are compatible with the mobile platform. According to a report by Zenith Media, in 2012 smartphones and tablets accounted for only 40 per cent of internet traffic, but over the next five years the figure rose to 75 per cent or higher. The breakthrough in user growth creates a solid foundation for the technology industry in general and the mobile industry in particular. EBI reported last year that about 33 per cent of respondents to its survey spent about 20-50 per cent of their total e-commerce investment on the construction and operation of mobile websites and apps. This is an impressive figure that demonstrates that technology development is an important step in the success of … [Read more...] about Vietnam Mobile Day 2018 on way
