Sixteen new COVID-19 cases confirmed on Sunday

People in Hải Dương Province wait for COVID-19 tests as part of the province's large-scale testing campaign. —VNA/VNS Photo HÀ NỘI — Sixteen new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Viet Nam on Sunday evening, including 12 locally-transmitted patients in Hải Dương Province, bringing the total caseload to 2,448. All the new locally-transmitted cases were found in quarantine facilities or isolated areas in Hải Dương, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control. The four imported patients include three who entered the country via Mộc Bài border gate in southern Tây Ninh Province on February 14 and another who arrived via Thường Phước border gate in the Mekong Delta province of Hậu Giang on February 26. Bac Lieu working hard to fight illegal fishing

Illustrative image (Photo: VNA) Bac Lieu (VNA) - The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu has adopted a wide range of measures to raise awareness and legal understanding among local fishermen about preventing and fighting illegal fishing . The provincial fisheries industry has witnessed strong development over recent years, contributing significantly to increasing incomes for fishermen. But legal violations in fishing activities remain common. According to Tran Xi Khuol, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Fisheries, fishing has been considered a key economic sector of Bac Lieu for many years. But problems linger, such as illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, especially fishing without permits, a lack of safety equipment on fishing vessels, and fishing reports not being submitted in line with regulations. COVID-19: Vietnam records 12 more community cases on Feb. 28

Most of the newly-detected patients tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus after coming into close contact with COVID-19 patients. Six of the cases were recorded in Hai Duong’s Kim Thanh district, a new coronavirus hotspot in the country. The virus has spread to all 12 cities and districts in Hai Duong province, with 665 cases confirmed, since it recurred a month ago. Elsewhere, the epidemic has been brought under control in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi capital, Hai Phong city as well as 12 other localities, with no new cases detected during the past few days. Bac Lieu province in the Mekong Delta reported an infection in the community on February 28 and local authorities are awaiting confirmation from the Ho Chi Minh City Pasteur Institute. The same day, the Ministry of Health announced four imported cases in Tay Ninh and Dong Thap provinces in southern Vietnam. Hanoi targets 2,000 new OCOP products in the next 5 years

The Hanoitimes - To date, Hanoi has completed a similar process for 630 OCOP products achieving 3-star rating and above, exceeding the target of having at least 500 OCOP products. For the next five years, Hanoi targets to complete the evaluation and classification process for at least 2,000 products under the national’s One Commune, One Product (OCOP) program. Hanoi to find solutions for effectively implementing OCOP program
