He said the 2001 Ford Excursion had failed to stop at an intersection and continued into a parking lot, ultimately crashing into a parked car. Investigators have not yet established if the victims were wearing seatbelts. "Twenty fatalities is horrific... Learning to nap in New York, city that never sleeps
New York is the city that never sleeps, but arduous commutes, hellish hours and ultra-competitive jobs mean even the most wired of party animals or dedicated employees have to recharge their batteries. But instead of knocking back a coffee or quaffing an energy drink, a growing number of New Yorkers are opting for a quick nap during office hours. With affluent Americans increasingly health conscious - indulging in fads such as green juice, hot-house yoga and matcha tea - a few pay-for-sleep businesses are now offering customers a little shut-eye on the QT. Nap York is one. Opening three months ago in a three-story building near Penn Station, $12 buys patrons 30 minutes in a wooden sleep cabin, day or night. "We wanted to accommodate all the exhausted New Yorkers," explains Stacy Veloric, the company's marketing director. "It's really hard to find peace and quiet within New York City." The business opened with seven cabins, but demand quickly exceeded supply and they added 22 more. Soon … [Read more...] about Learning to nap in New York, city that never sleeps

Sekulow said Giuliani, who presided over New York City from 1994 to 2001, "expressed his deep appreciation to the president for allowing him to assist in this important matter." MTV Video Music Awards return to New York in August
Viet Nam News NEW YORK — The MTV Video Music Awards, the televised gala known for headline-grabbing performances and celebrity antics, will return to New York on August 20. The music and youth culture network made the announcement with its trademark astronaut-clad "moonperson" appearing outside Radio City Music Hall, the historic theater where the awards will take place. "New York City’s creative energy has always fueled those who live and work here. This is where music, film, and art collide and where the Video Music Awards were born," Mayor Bill de Blasio said in a statement. The move comes amid intense competition between Los Angeles and New York for cultural events, as the pop music business steadily migrates to the West Coast. The Grammy Awards held a one-off edition in New York in January after 15 years in Los Angeles, while the MTV Video Music Awards have largely alternated, taking place in New York’s Madison Square Garden in 2016. He was born in Vietnam to entrepreneur parents and moved to the United States with his family when he was in secondary school. He said he became interested in modeling while he was still in elementary school, inspired by fashion shows on TV. “My parents didn’t support me because they were worried I wouldn’t be able to resist the temptations or withstand the hardships of this career,” Nguyen said. In 2015, Nguyen got his big break in the fashion world after being signed by several modeling agencies in NYC.
