The Hanoitimes - Developments along the Red river will play an important role in driving Hanoi's future. Hanoi needs to remove obstacles to accelerate the zoning plan of the riparian areas on both sides of the Red river that runs through the city, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue said at a meeting last week. Hue said that Hanoi needs to complete the zoning plans, including the plan on both sides of the Red river and making full use of the land resources in the riparian areas along the river banks. As the zoning plan has not been devised, land resources in Hanoi have not been made full use of. No one wants to make long-term investments in the riparian areas as winning bidders are only entitled to the land usufruct for five years. The Hanoitimes - Solving the drainage problem in the development of the riparian areas has been the reason the land along the Red river remains unplanned. Hanoi will report to the central government on the planning of the riparian areas on both sides of the Red river, ensuring that no land in Hanoi is left without being planned, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue said at the recent meeting with voters in Dan Phuong district. Hue said that the general zoning plan for the capital city until 2030, with vision to 2050 had been approved by the Prime Minister since 2011. Vietnam needs over US$128 billion for power investment next 10 years A drone is used to inspect a power transmission system in Vietnam. The country will need an estimated US$128.3 billion for developing the power system in the next decade The Institute of Energy, under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, on February 22 continued to collect feedback over the plan from the relevant agencies. According to the plan, during the 10-year period, Vietnam will need to pour some US$12.8 billion on average into the power sector per year. The total investment for the following 15 years from 2031 to 2045 will be some US$192 billion, including some US$140 billion for power sources and US$52 billion for the grid.
