The police suggested the district People’s Procuracy to launch prosecution against supervisor teacher Nguyen Bich Quy and driver Doan Quy Phien for committing “involuntary manslaughter” and head teacher Nguyen Thi Thuy for “neglecting responsibility, causing serious consequences." According to police investigation, though Quy neglected to count the number of students having got off the vehicle because she was occupied with helping students get to their class but she still wrote in the school bus attending book that all 13 students had been picked up and dropped off. Vietnamese man visits 50 countries, and counting, on motorbike
A Vietnamese man from southern Vietnam is living his dream, or everyone’s dream: traveling the world by motorbike. On the 794th day of his journey, Tran Dang Dang Khoa reached Sydney - the two-third mark on his seven-continent motorbike journey. “Suddenly I opened my eyes and I saw Sydney, an important milestone which marks two-thirds of my world journey on ‘The Memo’ and over two years since my departure,” Khoa shared with his 237,500 Facebook followers on August 3. A picture capturing nature in a rural area in Australia taken by Khoa has received positive feedback from his Facebook followers. “The Memo” is the name of the motorbike he has used for the trip, which began in June 2017, and the vehicle has so far taken him through around 50 countries. PM: Efforts to assist people affected by Formosa incident pay off
The government leader made the remarks while chairing a national conference in Quang Tri province on May 17 to review the performance of the steering committee for solutions to stabilise lives, production and business of affected people after the incident. Officials have gained more experiences following the incident, PM Phuc said while lauding Ha Tinh province’s determination to bring the case on wrongdoings in compensating and supporting the affected fishermen to the court. The leader attributed such outcomes to contributions of scientists, members of the steering committee, leaders and the political system at commune-, district- and provincial levels, army and police forces, and public support. He made the statement at the 6th congress of the Vietnamese Entrepreneurs in Germany held in Berlin on December 7. Ambassador Vu spoke highly of what the association has done, saying he expects it will expand its member network across Germany and help Vietnamese people in Germany stay united, contributing to enhancing the bilateral ties.
