At the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Quoc Cuong emphasised the contributions of the President, who devoted his life to the national construction cause and was honoured with various orders. Speaking at the reception, Nam highlighted the fruitful relations based on mutual respect that Vietnam and Japan have built up over the years. He said bilateral defence ties have been strengthened with practical achievements, particularly in the arena of the UN’s peacekeeping mission. Four Vietnamese arrested in Japan for alleged cryptocurrency account selling

Tokyo police arrested four Vietnamese nationals last week over an alleged illegal sale of an account they opened at a Tokyo cryptocurrency exchange, the Japan Times reported last Friday. The suspects are under investigation of illicitly selling the user ID, password and other information on the account to a third party last July, the Japan Times quoted sources familiar with the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department (MPD). Their client, who has been identified as a crime group believed to be of Chinese origin, used the account to receive a ¥3 million-worth remittance ($28,000) last year. The money was converted into bitcoin, some of which was sent to an exchange in China. “The MPD suspects the account was used to launder criminal funds,” the Japanese newspaper reported from their sources. The ministry said in a statement issued last Saturday that the goal of the conference was to call for more Japanese investment in the domestic stock market. Pham Viet Muon, vice chairman of the Government Office, told the Japanese firms present at the conference that the Government was welcoming foreign investors and wanted them to be part of the country’s economic reform process, especially the restructuring of state enterprises and banks. Music concert to be held to mark 45 years of Vietnam-Japan relationsHoang Phong Popular Japanese music band “Kuricorder and Friends” will come to Vietnam for a music concert in Hanoi on January 12 and in HCMC on January 14. Organized by the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam (Japan Foundation Vietnam), the concert is part of a series of activities in commemoration of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Vietnam. “Kuricorder & Friends” is a music exchange project by a group of Japanese musicians including well-known music band Kuricorder Quartet, the duet Beautiful Hummingbird and singer Chiku Toshiaki.
