The Hanoitimes - Vietnam’s stable social-political environment and a fast-growing market are the country’s advantages in attracting investment capital from Japan, said the head of JETRO in Hanoi. A survey conducted by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) in Hanoi revealed that 18.1 per cent of Japanese firms are looking to shift production to Vietnam, making the country second in the list behind Thailand (20%). The Hanoitimes - For the first time, the Vietnamese government would issue a list of sectors with limited market access for foreign investors under the negative list principle. The portfolios of the elite architecture firms cover $7.03 billion worth of properties scheduled to start construction in Vietnam this year, while the portfolios of the top developers are valued at $4.89 billion. These firms were chosen based on the greatest aggregate value of projects under construction during the last full calendar year, weighted by the extent of their sustainability efforts. For architecture firms, pre-tender projects were included to recognize early incorporation of green design efforts.
