Government approves Tuyen Quang-Phu Tho expressway project

The expressway will be built after three years of delay (Photo: vnexpress.net) Hanoi (VNA) - The Government has approved the construction of an expressway connecting the northern provinces of Tuyen Quang and Phu Tho under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) format after three years of delays. The expressway with 40.2km long, including 11km of road will be built in Tuyen Quang province and the rest in Phu Tho province. It will start in Tuyen Quang province's Tuyen Quang city and end at Phu Tho province's Phu Tho township. The expressway will link with the Noi Bai-Lao Cai Expressway. The four-lane road is designed with the speed of 80kph. The project is implemented under the public-private partnership model with a total investment of more than 3.2 trillion VND (138 million USD). Transport ministry’s 2018 disbursement rate highest in 3 years
Illustrative image (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – The Transport Ministry disbursed 76 percent of the sum assigned by the Government in 2018, the highest rate recorded in the past three years. The rate was also higher than the national average of 66.35 percent. The figures were announced at a conference held in Hanoi on January 11 to review the ministry’s operation last year and set tasks for 2019. As heard at the function, the ministry disbursed more than 20.24 trillion VND (872.38 million USD) of more than 26.88 trillion VND (1.15 billion USD) it was tasked with in 2018. During the year, the ministry completed 27 projects worth more than 68.11 trillion VND (2.93 billion USD), and began 16 projects worth some 13.38 trillion VND (576.73 million USD). Equitisation of SOEs still sees slow progress

The progress was still “very slow”, said Dang Quyet Tien, Director of the MoF's Corporate Finance Department, at the ministry’s press conference on the local financial and production situation and the restructuring and equitisation of SOEs in Hanoi on December 10. Tien said though equitisation and divestment had a positive impact on the development of the stock market, improving the performance of firms, the slow progress was “concerning”. Among nine SOEs reported, three were on the list of 128 SOEs required to be equitised by the Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc in the period from 2016 to 2020.
