Quang Binh busts largest meth smuggling case Police seizes 308.6kg of crystal meth in the case Police of the central province of Quang Binh recently seized 308.6kg of crystal meth, the largest single amount confiscated in the province so far. On October 12, local police noticed a suspicious car on National Highway 1A in Le Thuy district of the province. When police asked the occupants to stop the car, they fled into a nearby forest. When examining the vehicle, police discovered 300 nylon bags of crystal meth weighing 308.6kg. The next morning, with the cooperation of local people, authorised forces arrested Xeng Vang, born in 1995 and residing in Bolikhamsai province of Laos, who was the car’s driver. He admitted he was hired to smuggle the drugs to Da Nang city for 10,000 USD. Local police are searching for other suspects. High-rise buildings are indispensable trend in Hanoi: Mayor Hanoi`s landscape has changed a lot with projects in urban areas, buildings and commercial centers. Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung said at the meeting with voters on October 8 that it is indispensable to build high-rise works in the capital to meet rising demand for housing. The city's population has increased by 1.4 million over the past ten years, or 140,000 per year on average, to 7.6 million. Since May 2016, Hanoi has issued regulations on the construction of high-rise buildings in the inner city. Accordingly, height and density of all works built on roads are clearly defined, Chung added. In the past years, Hanoi has also focused on the management of planning and construction, including the rearrangement of construction inspection team.
