Vietnam records six new COVID-19 infections on March 6 evening Vietnam logged six new COVID-19 cases on March 6 evening, all in northern Hai Duong province, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control reported. All the new patients had been previously quarantined and are being treated at a COVID-19 treatment hospital in Hai Duong province. By the evening of March 6, Vietnam had recorded a total of 2,507 COVID-19 patients, including 1,584 domestically-transmitted cases. Up to 891 domestic infections have been detected since the third wave of outbreaks hit the country on January 27. The Treatment Subcommittee said that 1,920 patients have recovered from the disease to date, while the number of deaths related to COVID-19 was still kept at 35. Among active patients undergoing treatment, 65 tested negative to the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 once, 57 twice and 137 thrice. Activities nationwide celebrate 70 years of patriotic emulation appeal

* A meeting, held by authorities of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), saw the presence of former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, Permanent Deputy-Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, and Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan. In response to the appeal, over the past years, local authorities, armed forces and people have made efforts in emulation work to gain considerable achievements in the struggle for national liberation and during the national construction and development cause. HCMC mobilizes capital for three infirmaries in city gateways

A mission team from the municipal People’s Committee led by Deputy Chairman Duc yesterday worked with the city Department of Health upon implementation of this year tasks. City authorities have started construction of the general hospitals in outlying districts Hoc Mon and Cu Chi while construction of the general hospital in Thu Duc City will begin this year. Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Director of the Department Associate Professor Tang Chi Thuong said that the health sector in HCMC aims for successful implementation of preventative measures against Covid-19 and other illnesses, medicine and population program as well as improvement of medical examination quality and pressure reduction for big hospitals in 2021. Vietnam Border Guard Law should be soon implemented

Over the past time, the Standing Committee of the Compilation Board for the Vietnam Border Guard Law has actively worked with the Department of Legal Affairs of the Ministry of Defense (MND), the Criminal and Administrative Legislation Department of the Ministry of Justice and relevant units to prepare documents for draft decrees guiding the implementation of the Vietnam Border Guard Law. In addition, they made recommendations for the MND to prepare documents for the law building process as scheduled. Concluding the conference, General Chien hailed the committee’s remarkable efforts and achievements in the compilation of draft decrees to contribute to the Vietnam Border Guard Law so as to soon put it into life. Vietnamese government to support unskilled laborers affected by Covid-19

The Hanoitimes - The support package delivery must ensure seriousness, publicity, transparency. The Vietnamese government will support unskilled laborers directly affected by Covid-19 pandemic from May 10, local media reported. It is expected that as of May 15, the government will finish paying the relief money to beneficiary groups, including revolutionary contributors, social assistance beneficiaries and poor people. At a recent regular meeting of the Vietnamese government, Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung affirmed that the support package delivery must ensure seriousness, publicity, transparency. “We have not received any negative feedback from the localities regarding the payment of the financial aids," Dung said.
