Accordingly, the airline will join hands with the company in five years in order to expand and improve the services of its Lotushop so as to meet the four-star requirements of UK-based airline review and rating organisation Skytrax. Ports, oil refineries and industrial plants in Guangdong have been shut. Power to some areas was also reduced as a precaution. In Shenzhen, the electricity supply to more than 130,000 homes was cut at one point on Sunday. The storm has fuelled concern about sugar production in Guangdong, which accounts for a tenth of national output at about 1 million tonnes. Six flights to/from Hong Kong (China) to be delayed due to super typhoon
As plan, Vietnam Airlines will cancel four flights on Hanoi/HCMC and Hong Kong including VN592, VN593, VN 595 on September 16. Two flights between HCMC and Hong Kong VN598 on September 16 and VN599 on September 17 will also be adjusted. Passengers on above memtioned flights will be supported to change free of charge to other flights on the next days. VNA said it will continue to eye on the weather forecast to update new schedule. Last week, Temasek, the majority shareholder in Singapore Airlines Ltd, and HNA, an aviation-to-financial services conglomerate, agreed to explore business partnerships in aviation and logistics. HNA is looking to raise funds for the Hong Kong airlines and Temasek is a potential investor. A stake in Hong Kong airlines is expected to help Temasek get an aviation foothold closer to mainland China.
