The pop-up eatery in Duc Co district in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai is funded by Le Thanh Border Guard Station soldiers, who want to help local Jrai ethnic students to stay in school. Launched in June 2012, the soldiers serve food daily to 14 to 16 students from local Tran Phu Primary School, Nguyen Trai Secondary School and Nguyen Truong To High School. Jrai ethnic students enjoy meal prepared by solders. Besides, each student receives a monthly assistance of VND 500,000 (USD 21.5) from the soldiers. Sitting around a small table, they happily enjoy hot and savory food cooked by the amateur chefs. Viet Nam News HÀ NỘI — Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc has approved a project to replace crumbling classrooms and upgrading educational equipment to create the best conditions for students. Aiming at helping schools meet infrastructure criteria in order to implement new national educational curriculum, the project looks to address the classroom oversize in big cities and remove makeshift classrooms in mountainous areas. Fully-packed classrooms in big cities have forced many primary schools to reduce the teaching time. Students of Chu Văn An Primary School in Hoàng Liệt Ward, Hoàng Mai District, for example, have to take only four classes per week instead of five because school facilities are unable to accommodate increasing and large number of children. The mountainous and rural areas face many challenges in terms of development and integration. In that context, ICT education is considered as the key to help people change lives in order not to be left behind in the 4.0th industrial revolution. Meanwhile, due to the economic and social difficulties, students, the future labor generation, do not have many opportunities to access to advanced education programs. Targeted to provide knowledge and skills to help students not only use technology proficiently but can also create technology, the project has developed the ICT and Computer Science program to pilot in extra-curricular classes, including topics on Basic IT Application, Movie Making, 2D-3D Graphics, 2D-3D Programming and Internet Safety. Improving Japanese language and recruitment in Japan for Vietnamese students
Representatives from Dong A University and LEOC Group (Japan) signed the MoU (Source: CPV)Accordingly, at least 200 students graduating from Dong A University will study and work in Japan. The programme will help students graduating from Dong A University to study in DBC Japanese Language School under LEOC or other Japanese language schools in Japan for one or two years to practise Japanese. Earlier, students will be provided free training courses on Japanese in six months. The agreement will continue through 2020, improving the total of students from Dong A University received by LEOC Group to at least 1,000 people. The cooperation is expected to bring knowledge and professional skills in Japan to students who want to return Vietnam to work in LEOC system and leading Japanese enterprises in Vietnam. Cheo folk singing performed by students The project, started in 2014, aims to inspire traditional cultural arts among the modern public. In 2017, the project implemented its plan to bring the art to schools to bring it closer to young people, especially students. Over the past three months, department and clubs of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities have coordinated with Viet village and communal house organization to help students study Cheo singing. The performance was the highlight of the project as students could perform what they learnt.
