Built by the Vietnam-Khmer Association, the Khmer-Vietnam Tan Tien friendship primary school is the largest Khmer-Vietnamese bilingual school in Cambodia. It provides kindergarten-to-fifth grade education that can enable its students to study in public schools in Cambodia and Vietnam. Viet Nam News HCM CITY — Chợ Rẫy Hospital in HCM City will continue to deploy physicians and specialists for medical assistance at Chợ Rẫy Phnom Penh Hospital in Cambodia, according to Nguyễn Trường Sơn, director of Chợ Rẫy Hospital. Since its inception in 2014, Chợ Rẫy Phnom Penh Hospital has received an average of 15 Vietnamese physicians every week who are sent temporarily to work at there. The number of inpatients at Chợ Rẫy Phnom Penh Hospital rose sharply to 5,590 last year from 1,260 in 2014, an indication that patients now have more trust in their local doctors. Construction of Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville expressway to start in November

The ministry’s speaker Vasim Sorya said the project will be carried out by China’s Road and Bridge Corporation under a deal signed between the Cambodian ministry and the corporation in January this year. The 190km long expressway will have four lanes, with construction time estimated at four years. It will also connect with the trans-Asia route. Sihanoukville is an important gateway to the Gulf of Thailand of Cambodia. The port city has attracted many major investment projects of China. More relief sent to victims of Phnom Penh fire

Representatives from the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) chapter in Ho Chi Minh City visited the victims and provided 15 million VND (nearly 650 USD) to each household, while those from the HCM City Women’s Union donated a total of 50 million VND to the victims (2,163 USD). As many as 69 houses in Russey Keo District in Phnom Penh were burned to the ground after a fire broke out at around 3am this morning. 59 of the homes were owned by Vietnamese nationals, according to Châu Văn Chi, President of the Việt Nam—Cambodia Association (VCA). Expats affected by Phnom Penh fire receive support
At the fire site (Source: VNA) Phnom Penh (VNA) – Representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy, the Khmer-Vietnamese Association and Vietnamese businesses in Cambodia on July 10 afternoon visited Vietnamese families in Phnom Penh affected by the blaze which took place early morning the same day. Ambassador Vu Quang Minh thanked local authorities and the Cambodia Red Cross Society for their timely support to the victims, and pledged that the embassy and relevant units will continue to mobilise assistance for them. The fire began at 3.30am on July 10 in Russey Keo district, Phnom Penh, destroying 59 houses and assets of 67 households, including 58 households of Vietnamese Cambodian people. The initial conclusion shows that the fire was caused by an electrical fault. Firefighters used 32 fire engines, but the road was so small and the houses were made of wood so that the fire trucks found it hard to battle the fire.
