The Hanoitimes - The trade deal will open a new chapter in the Vietnam – UK relations, UK International Trade Secretary Liz Truss has said. The Hanoitimes - Covid-19 has put catering services and fashion shops in the Old Quarter in a dire situation. Many shops in the Hanoi’s Old Quarter have closed, and renters are returning commercial properties to landlords due to sluggish sales as foreign tourists are not allowed to enter Vietnam yet. Around Hoan Kiem Lake area, many hotels have been closed and there is no sign of reopening yet. Some locations have removed the signboards, and are in the process of being transfered or returned to tenants. The situation of catering services and fashion shops is desperate. Many hotels cut room prices by 50% to 70%. A row of silk shops on Hang Gai street had to shut down. The Hanoitimes - Both Vietnam and the UK are looking for a trade deal after Brexit. Vietnam logs no new COVID-19 infections on March 1 morning Vietnam documented zero COVID-19 infections in the past 12 hours as of 6:00 am on March 1, leaving the national tally unchanged at 2,448 patients, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control. Earlier, Vietnam reported 16 COVID-19 cases at 6pm on February 28, including 12 locally infected cases in the northern province of Hai Duong, the country's largest COVID-19 hotspot, and four imported cases in the southern provinces of Tay Ninh and Dong Thap. Of the total infections, there were 1,542 domestically-transmitted cases, including 849 recorded since the latest outbreak hit the northern province of Hai Duong on January 27.
