National databases on population, citizen identification card make debut

These two systems, developed and implemented by the Ministry of Public Security, reflect the Government’s determination to shift from paper-based to electronic document management. The national database on population is the most important among the six national databases to help form an e-Government, a digital society and digital economy. Meanwhile, the project on citizen ID card production, issuance and management was approved by the Government last September. The Ministry of Public Security expects to issue chip-based ID cards for 50 million citizens by July 1 this year. Under the Law on Citizen Identification in 2014, people from 14 years of age can obtain an ID card, which is then renewed when they turn 25, 40, and 60 years of age. More than 29,000 citizens have obtained new ID cards to date, including 1,369 delegates to the 13th National Party Congress. Illustrated paintings of Hanoi streets by Bui Xuan Phai

The Hanoitimes - Bui Xuan Phai (1920-1988) is the artist who discovers Hanoi’s beauty. He is considered to have rebuilt the images of Hanoi’s ancient streets since peace was restored after French war in 1954. There is absolutely no doubt that Bui Xuan Phai is the artist who discovered the beauty of Hanoi. Phai is the first ever Hanoian painter who draw the ancient streets after the revolution of French war in 1954. Saying so does not imply that he had drawn them in order or drawn all of them. There are the streets that he painted tens of times (Ma May, Hang Bac, Hang Tre, among others). The painting entitled “The nude girl sleeping on the roof” by Bui Xuan Phai. Foreign investors remain upbeat about Vietnamese market

Foreign investors are seeing great prospects in Vietnam Foreign investor Foxconn Singapore Pte., Ltd. has recently decided to pour an additional $23 million into the Fukang Technology Factory in the northern province of Bac Ninh, bringing the total investment capital of this project to $293 million. The project was granted investment licenses in mid-January. Foxconn is recruiting 1,000 electronic assembly workers for its factories in Vietnam. Workers will work at the industrial parks (IP) of Dinh Tram, Quang Chau, and Van Trung in Bac Giang and Que Vo IP in Bac Ninh. Besides, the company is recruiting 14 supplier quality engineers. According to Zhuo Xianhong, general director of Foxconn in Vietnam, the Taiwanese electronics contract manufacturer has invested $1.5 billion in Vietnam, including $900 million in the northern province of Bac Giang alone, creating jobs for over 35,000 local workers. Australian logistics firm LOGOS establishes US$350-million venture in Vietnam

The Hanoitimes - The establishment of this venture in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic is testament to Vietnam’s exciting growth story, stated the firm’s senior executive. Australia-based LOGOS, a logistics real estate operator, has established its first Vietnam venture with an initial forecast portfolio of around US$350 million by gross asset value, stated the group in a statement. The venture aims to develop modern and high-quality logistics facilities across Vietnam.
