Football fans in Hanoi partied long into the night after Vietnam’s first-ever Southeast Asian Games gold medal following an emphatic 3-0 win over Indonesia on December 10. Immediately following the final whistle, Hanoians flooded the streets of the capital to celebrate the victory of the Vietnamese men’s football team over their rivals Indonesia during the final of the SEA Games. The win represents the first time that the Vietnamese men have won a gold medal in the men’s football event in the history of the SEA Games. Joyous crowds of football fans share their joy in the streets of Hanoi as they celebrate the victory. Hanoi leads FDI injection in first three quarters

(Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Hanoi led Vietnam in foreign direct investment (FDI) inflow in the first nine months of 2018 with more than 6.26 billion USD, a 5.4-fold rise from the same period last year, according to a local official. Some 162.7 trillion VND (over 6.95 billion USD) in non-state investment was injected into 70 projects in the capital, with local investment for development estimated at 219.44 trillion VND (9.38 billion USD), up 10.3 percent, Director of the municipal Department of Planning and Investment Nguyen Manh Quyen told the 15th meeting of Hanoi’s 16th Party Committee on October 1. Thai authorities seize assets from unlicensed online broker
Hanoi (VNA) – Thailand’s Department of Special Investigation (DSI) has seized assets worth about 743 million baht (some 24.5 million USD) from suspects in the investigation into alleged fraudulent dealings by unlicensed online broker Forex-3D.Forex-3D, run by Apiruk Kothi, turned out to be a Ponzi scheme that lured thousands of victims to invest in what they believed to be foreign exchange trading with false promises of high returns. Vietnam hosts meeting on anti-piracy information sharing
The three-day program, the first ever of its kind held in Vietnam, gathers senior officers from 16 ReCAAP member countries as well as Malaysia and Indonesia. Delegates reviewed the issues of piracy and armed robbery against ships in Asia, shared specific case studies, and discussed ways to improve the maritime safety situation in Asia. In his opening speech, Major General Bui Trung Dung, Deputy Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard, underlined that the meeting offers a good chance for law enforcement forces inside and outside the region to exchange experiences on responding to unexpected incidents and violations. Vietnamese, Russian legislative bodies’ leaders meet press on talks’ outcome
Chairwoman Ngan affirmed that the talks were a success, with two sides discussing issues related to the cooperation between the two countries and legislative bodies as well as directions for the Russian Year in Vietnam in 2020.
