Danang calls for investment in 10 projects in next five years Tien Sa Port in Danang City. ADB provides $600,000 grant to support Vietnam’s Covid-19 response

The Hanoitimes - Vietnam is among few countries that have successfully contained the impact from the Covid-19 pandemic, stated a ADB senior executive. Vietnam turns green light to export of medical masks to pandemic-hit countries

The Hanoitimes - The move is taken to support domestic producers in overcoming the unprecedented crisis due to the Covid-19 pandemic and these items are only allowed to export to countries heavily affected by the coronavirus. The Vietnamese government has allowed the export of medical masks, protective clothing and medical equipment, provided that domestic demand for those items is met (including for reserves), VnExpress quoted Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc as saying at a meeting on April 15. The move is taken to support domestic producers in overcoming the unprecedented crisis due to the Covid-19 pandemic and these items are only allowed to be shipped to countries affected by Covid-19. Vietnam records six new COVID-19 infections on March 6 evening Vietnam logged six new COVID-19 cases on March 6 evening, all in northern Hai Duong province, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control reported. All the new patients had been previously quarantined and are being treated at a COVID-19 treatment hospital in Hai Duong province. By the evening of March 6, Vietnam had recorded a total of 2,507 COVID-19 patients, including 1,584 domestically-transmitted cases. Up to 891 domestic infections have been detected since the third wave of outbreaks hit the country on January 27. The Treatment Subcommittee said that 1,920 patients have recovered from the disease to date, while the number of deaths related to COVID-19 was still kept at 35. Among active patients undergoing treatment, 65 tested negative to the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 once, 57 twice and 137 thrice. 13 localities with Covid-19 outbreaks first in line for vaccination

Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Duong, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Hung Yen, Hoa Binh, Gia Lai, Binh Duong, Dien Bien and Ha Giang would receive around 117,600 vaccine doses by AstraZeneca, delivered to Vietnam last month. First prioritized are those on the frontline of the coronavirus fight, including medical workers treating Covid-19 patients, officials commandeering the Covid-19 fight, contact tracers, reporters and the army. Those who have been vaccinated would be monitored through their digital health profiles, and would receive a digital certification proving they have been inoculated. Future vaccination schedules would be rolled out in accordance with the quantity of batches available, overseen by the health ministry.
